History

Early in 2000 I installed a wireless LAN so I did not have to keep plugging my laptop into an Ethernet jack when at home. After using my laptop unteathered at home, my desire for wireless networks only increased and soon I realized how nice it would be to access the Internet from my local coffee shop. The coffee shop I had in mind was only a couple hundred yards away, so began the search for an access point with enough range and power. I realized that other folks at the coffee shop might also enjoy connectivity, and I did have the bandwidth to spare so I opened up the network. So was born one of the first wireless coffee shops in San Francisco. <cliff@toaster.net>
